ASG Bancorp Microfinance Limited (ASGB), part of The Asia Sustainability Group, has selected Musoni as its core banking and digitalisation partner in order to accelerate their rollout across Myanmar.
ASGB were founded in 2016 with the goal of providing entrepreneurs in Myanmar with useful and affordable financials services. To fuel the next stage of their growth, they needed a partner able to help fast track their digitalisation, and Musoni was the perfect fit.
As ASGB are building a full suite of loan, savings and social welfare products, Musoni will be key in enabling ASGB to scale rapidly across the country, leveraging Musoni’s suite of digitalisation tools such as our Digital Field Application to more conveniently reach clients in rural areas.
Musoni’s open APIs will make it easy for ASGB to integrate complementary digital channels into the core banking system. This ensures a fast time-to-market and enables ASGB to quickly offer more services to their end customers. In addition, Musoni has already integrated with many of the Myanmar digitalisation channels, including the WynePay platform (enabling FSPs to connect to the digital payment ecosystem from any mobile wallet of bank account), and MCIX, the Myanmar data sharing and risk management tool.
Moeko Sasaki, ASGB’s managing director, says: “Our goal is to be the most efficient and innovative microfinance institution in Myanmar, and to provide the most client-orientated financial services in the country. To do this we needed a world class core banking system that would enable us to deliver on our product roadmap. Musoni was the most flexible technology in the market, built with digitalisation in mind from the very core.”
Wai Zin, Musoni’s Head of Digitalisation in Myanmar, says: “We’re thrilled to be working with the ASGB team on the next stage of their growth plans. They have a clear and ambitious vision that with the right partners has the potential to turn them into the country’s leading MFI. We’re delighted to be part of their journey!”
